The Vampire’s Wife: Gothic Girl Power

The Vampire’s Wife: Gothic Girl Power

In a recent post I talked about how I’ve just been set my summative brief, FCP’s final project for first year. It sounds pretty simple, launch a new fragrance for an existing brand all whilst utilising the FCP process. Turns out it’s a lot harder than anticipated. What I didn’t find hard, however, was choosing my brand. We got given a list of eight brands, from makeup brands to home wear designers, but the one I decided to go for was a brand that mixes femininity and gothic influence perfectly – The Vampire’s Wife. My Pinterest Addiction

My Pinterest Addiction

I’ve always been into Pinterest, randomly getting over 20,000 followers a few years ago which is still crazy to me. Over time my interest dwindled, and so did my follower count. That was until I started Uni. We were advised to have a Pinterest to collect and catagorise images, and then eventually print them out and analyse them in our sketchbooks. Just like that my Pinterest addiction started exactly where it had left off. View Post

Reflecting on my first year of FCP

Reflecting on my first year of FCP

I’m in my last few weeks of being a first year FCP student at Nottingham Trent University, and I really do feel like I’ve learnt a lot (cooking still unfortunately not being one of them!). I wrote a reflection post at the end of my first module, and in all honesty not much has changed. I talked about all the amazing experiences I’d had in the first few months of Uni, but also reflected on the bits that had been much trickier than I’d expected. The second module we focused on fragrance, something I’ve talked about lots, and this was a module I found much more enjoyable than the first. View Post

How We Created a Brand in Nine Weeks

How We Created a Brand in Nine Weeks

If you read my last post you’ll know that my most recent uni project was to create a fragrance brand. Our brand was ‘Arctic Lime’ a festival aimed fragrance that was designed to allow users to freshen up on the go, allowing them to enjoy their festival experience without having to worry about their hygiene (something that is definitely a worry at festivals considering the grim shower conditions, and unpredictable weather). I really enjoyed this part of the module, so I thought I’d share with you bits of the process, and what I’ve learnt about creating your own brand. View Post

Photoshoot Results

Photoshoot Results

Just a quick blog post today following the results of my groups photoshoot. We were tasked with creating some images that would be used within our fragrance project. Our brand, Arctic Lime, a festival aimed fragrance, needed fun and playful images that matched our brands personality. We had such a fun time during the actual shoot, with lots of glitter, paint and dancing, and I’m so happy with the results. I think my group worked so well together, and this shows through what we managed to produce. I’m thinking about writing some more blog posts on the fragrance project, so if you’re interested stay tuned! Below are the images we created post production (I was so lucky to have so many talented girls in my group), and I couldn’t be happier with the results. View Post
