Why 90’s fashion shows will never be topped

Why 90’s fashion shows will never be topped

Two words, Naomi Campbell. In all seriousness the shows that were held in the 90’s are my all time favourites, and I watch them over and over again on Youtube, wishing I’d have been around to experience them. From the supermodels, to the iconic designs, everything about these shows are unbeatable to what we see today. Sure we have more theatrics, but I don’t see how you can even begin to compare Gucci’s fire runway to Alexander McQueen’s robot spray painted dress in 99. Don’t get me wrong I loved both, but there’s something special about 90’s runways. Maybe it’s the nostalgia talking, but take a look at some of the shows below and see what you think. View Post

My Skincare Obsession – How I’m updating my routine

My Skincare Obsession – How I’m updating my routine

I’ve written a couple of blog posts in the past about my love of skincare. However no matter how many products I’ve bought my skin has never been as good as I want it to be. You think sticking to my holy grail products for the last year, and seeing no improvements would have inspired me to switch it up a bit, but for some reason I continued to naively think they were working for me. That was until recently when I actually looked at the ingredients in them. After realising maybe I know nothing about skincare, I’ve finally done my research, spent a bit too much money and got my act together, in order to ditch my spotty, oily skin for a healthy, glowy complexion. The importance of Street Style

The importance of Street Style

You onlyjust have to have a scroll through my Pinterest to see I’m a great lover of street style. I often think I get more excited for fashion week to see what people are wearing to the shows, rather than what’s actually going down the catwalk. Street style is a huge part of my fashion life, after all my main source of style inspiration is seeing what the girls on my course show up to seminars in. Street style has always been the best way of trend forecasting, and spotting style inspo from the streets worldwide. View Post

Have Influencers Gone Too Far?

Have Influencers Gone Too Far?

It’s official. Influencers are kind of taking over the world. I can’t scroll through Instagram without a million #ads being shoved down my throat. Even the only youtube videos I still find bareable to watch seem jam packed with sponsored content. Fashion influencers are being invited to sit font row at fashion week. Beauty influencers get to go on free trips to Bali just to advertise a concealer. Influencers are definitely shaking up what we’ve grown accustomed to, but is this really a good thing or is it as annoying as it seems? View Post

The Queens Proving Fashion Isn’t a Drag

The Queens Proving Fashion Isn’t a Drag

I first fell in love with drag queens when watching Ru Paul’s Drag Race, as I’m sure most straight, white millennials did. However whilst I loved the drama of the show, my favourite aspect was the looks they wore. Drag queens are always fierce, and their outfits often daring and jaw dropping. Even designer Marc Jobs is a fan, showing just how influential Ru Paul’s show is in the fashion world. Drag queens are continuously popping up in fashion, and I couldn’t be more excited that these gorgeous girls are getting the recognition they well and truly deserve.  View Post
